Boozman Applauds Remington’s Commitment to Arkansas Economic Development and Recreation

LONOKE, ARKANSAS- During a tour of the Remington ammunition factory,U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) applauded the success of the company's Lonoke facility and its investment in the community.

"Remington has been successful in navigating the current economic challenges to grow its Lonoke operations, employ more hardworking Arkansans and produce a great product that allows outdoor sports enthusiasts additional opportunities to do what they enjoy. Our state prides itself on offering world-class recreational shooting opportunities and Remington will play a critical role in ensuring Arkansans have the resources to continue this time-honored tradition," Boozman said.

U.S. Senator John Boozman toured the Remington ammunition plant on Friday, January 21 and learned about the manufacturing process from Kris Carson.

The factory employs more than 1,000 Arkansans who produce millions of rounds of ammunition daily. Employees have greatly expanded production since the beginning of 2021 and will continue to do so.

"Remington is doing our part as well, working overdrive to meet historical demand for Big Green ammunition. We have more than doubled employment, expanded supply lines and significantly increased production. These increases will get more ammunition to consumers while supporting conservation through the Pittman-Robertson wildlife fund, a win-win for all involved," said Joel Hodgdon, Director of Marketing for Remington. "We are pleased to welcome Sen. Boozman to Remington. His support for our employees and industry are critical to our long-term success. The senator's support for the Recovering America's Wildlife Act is especially timely given the influx of new hunters over the past 21 months. The legislation will expand conservation while giving state game managers more resources to restore and support healthy wildlife and habitat."

As a member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, Boozman is championing the Recovering America's Wildlife Act to invest in conservation in Arkansas and safeguard the long-term health of fish and wildlife habitat throughout the country. He spoke in support of the legislation during a committee hearing last month.

The legislation is supported by more than 1,500 organizations including the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Arkansas Wildlife Federation, Ducks Unlimited and the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation.
