Visit to Brazil of the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö – Brasília and São Paulo, May 31 to June 2, 2023

The President of the Republic of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, will visit Brazil between May 31 and June 2. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will receive the Finnish authority on June 1, at Planalto Palace, and will host a luncheon in his honor at Itamaraty Palace.

In addition to Brasilia, the Finnish president will keep an agenda in São Paulo on June 2, focusing on trade and investment promotion.

Brazil and Finland established diplomatic relations in 1929. The bilateral agenda is markedly positive and there is a mutual interest in expanding cooperation in strategic areas. After the visit of President Dilma Rousseff to Finland in 2015, President Niinistö was in Rio de Janeiro, on the occasion of the 2016 Olympics.
