For the fifth year in a row, Wilfrid Laurier University is the recipient of Mindful Campuses grants from Canada Life, Workplace Strategies for Mental Health and Mindful Employer Canada. Laurier's Human Resources department received the maximum grant of $2,000.

The Mindful Campuses grant program is dedicated to helping Canadian post-secondary institutions achieve wellness for students, staff and faculty. The program awards grants of up to $2,000 for programming and resources that support the mental health and psychological well-being of students, staff and faculty.

"I am thrilled that Laurier has again received a Mindful Campuses grant," says Pam Cant, chief human resources and equity officer. "At Laurier, we strive for a community where all students, staff and faculty can thrive. Focussing on mental health and well-being and providing resources and tools to support people contributes to this goal."

Human Resources will use the grant to offer two workshops developed by Workplace Strategies for Mental Health. "Plan for Resilience" will be offered for faculty and staff. Registration details are forthcoming. "From Surviving to Thriving" will be offered to students during winter 2024 Thrive Week. Part of the funding will also support Thrive Week programming for students.
