LVMH · March 6, 2024 LVMH and Orest Group inaugurate new jewelry manufacture in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges

Orest Group, a leading French jewelry manufacturer, today inaugurated its new production facility in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the new site will enable Orest to pursue its development and meet growing demand from clients.

This investment is part of the Orest Group's development following its acquisition by LVMH in April 2023, designed in particular to expand production capacity in France for Tiffany and support the Maison's flourishing jewelry business. The new site also contributes to preserving unique savoir-faire and jobs in French regions. By choosing this location in the heart of the Vosges in eastern France, Orest Group and LVMH continue to support strategic employment areas thanks to the creation of 300 jobs at the Saint-Dié site by the end of 2024.

Founded in 1963 in France's Alsace region, Orest Group rapidly established itself as a leading French jeweler. The company built a reputation for excellence thanks to its unique savoir-faire in making fine jewelry for international markets.

Today Orest Group has become a partner of choice for major luxury brands, including Tiffany and several other LVMH Maisons, notably Louis Vuitton and Dior.

This new location for the Orest Group in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges embodies a strong engagement with the local economy and history. Orest began operating in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges in March 2021 at a temporary site, initially hiring more than 100 people.

The company's workforce has now reached 200 and is expected to climb to 300 employees by the end of 2024.

Thanks to its expertise and ongoing investments, Orest Group has enjoyed significant growth for several years. This expansion is driven by sustained demand for fine jewelry, especially from international markets. The skills of Orest Group artisans have attracted more and more luxury clients around the world. Orest Group's historic production site in Erstein, in Alsace, no longer had sufficient capacity to meet this rising demand.

The need thus emerged to expand and also find a new employment catchment area. With support from the LVMH Group, the company decided to build a new factory in Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, a vibrant area experiencing a revitalization of the local economy.

"The inauguration of this new jewelry manufacture in the heart of the Vosges is a strong signal from Orest, from Tiffany and from the LVMH Group. Orest is a symbol of the French jewelry excellence that has attracted clients the world over. This new facility enables Tiffany to expand its production capacity in France and accommodate our growth in all our markets, particularly in Europe. I am very proud to be here today in Saint-Dié to salute this inestimable savoir-faire," stated Alexandre Arnault, Executive Vice President - Product, Communications & Industrial of Tiffany & Co.

"We are especially proud and delighted to see our growth help open a new chapter in the growth of the economy and communities of the Deodatie valley. The jobs we are creating have nurtured tremendous training and reskilling momentum, supported by regional authorities. This development brings people throughout the entire employment catchment area opportunities to apply their talents in one of the fabulous applied arts métiers that we practice, contributing to the unique reputation of French savoir-faire around the world," added Denis de Becker, CEO of Orest Group.

The 2,500-square-meter building is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, guaranteeing both optimal production performance and respect for the environment. The construction and equipment for the new manufacture were funded by LVMH and Orest Group, underlining their confidence in the promising future of Orest and its long-term presence in the region.

The company has established a training program in collaboration with the Grand-Est region, the Pôle Emploi state employment agency, the Greta training center, the Lycée Baumont and the UIMM (Union des Industries et Métiers de la Métallurgie) labor organization. This program enables job seekers and people either without professional skills or pursuing reskilling to acquire the expertise required in applied arts métiers such as jeweler, setter or polisher. Learning these in-demand skills leads to jobs with Orest. Employees benefit from personalized training paths and support from dedicated professionals with a passion for their métier.
