Nicole Brookshire discusses her move to Davis Polk with American Lawyer

Partner Nicole Brookshire discussed her move to Davis Polk's Capital Markets practice and why she made the switch with the American Lawyer.

"The lull in the cap markets was a great enabler for me," Nicole explained. "I could not have considered a move in a flush market, as it would have been too disruptive. I'm a client-first person."

She also noted that disruptions, such as massive market transitions, can "create immense opportunity and open doors if you look."

In addition to being a strong cultural fit with Davis Polk, Nicole said the firm's onboarding process and administrative resources allowed her to focus on what was most important to her - her clients. "All the little details, all the behind-the-scenes mechanics. It's a sophistication and elegance that takes years of development," she added.
