Murkowski Adds Two New Military Fellows to D.C. Office

U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) recently welcomed two new military fellows to her team in Washington D.C.: U.S. Coast Guard Fellow, Abbie Lyons, and HillVets Fellow, Lou Feaman.

'I'm excited to welcome these two new fellows to my team. The military plays an incredible role in our state and I have no doubt that Abbie and Lou will go above and beyond in their efforts to support each of our military branches,' said Senator Murkowski. 'Their experience and service help them truly understand the military lifestyle and the support our servicemembers, families, and veterans need.'

Abbie Lyons is an active duty Lieutenant Commander in the United States Coast Guard. Abbie graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 2010 and holds a Master's Degree from Boise State University in Organizational Performance and Workplace Learning. Prior to serving on Senator Murkowski's staff, she was the Waterways and Incident Management Chief at Marine Safety Unit Duluth, Minnesota. Abbie's Alaskan experience includes serving as the supervisor of Marine Safety Detachment Dutch Harbor, Alaska and as the District Seventeen Flag Aide in Juneau, Alaska, where she also worked in International Fisheries Enforcement. She has also served at Marine Safety Unit Portland, Oregon and onboard the Coast Guard Cutter Escanaba out of Boston, Massachusetts.

Lou Feaman has joined Senator Murkowski's office through the HillVets organization, which brings together veterans in the National Capital Region and provides a fellowship for veterans interested in engaging in governance, international affairs, and policy. Lou received a Bachelor of Science from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Arts in International Commerce and Policy from George Mason University. He served as an active duty Marine Corps officer from 2008-2016 including deployments to Afghanistan and the Arabian Peninsula. He has worked with partner nations in the IndoPacific region and he continues to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve. Prior to accepting the fellowship, Lou worked in the private sector as the operations supervisor for Siemens Smart Infrastructure in the Washington, DC market where he focused on the electronic security business.
