Officers Arrest Four Suspects After Selling Stolen Apple Products in Brighton

At about 3:43 PM, on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, members of the Drug Control Unit of District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) arrested Ahmadou Sow, 31, of Bronx, New York, Amady Dioum, 24, of New York City, Ibra Sow, 29 of New York City, and Dioum Cheikhouna, 21, of New York City.

Officers were on patrol in the area of 21 Farrington Street when they observed two males standing in front of the building and were approached by another individual. Officers observed one male hand another male an unknown amount of US currency in exchange for an unknown small white square box.

Officers then observed the two males removing square shaped white boxes from their backpacks. Officers observed the two males separate from each other and walk in different directions. One of the males walked back into 21 Farrington Street for approximately 30 seconds before exiting with another unknown male.

Officers observed one suspect standing in front of 161 Brighton Avenue when he was approached by an unknown individual. One of the males handed the suspect an unknown amount of US currency, in exchange for a small white square box. Officers were able to stop the individual and recovered multiple wrapped boxes of Apple products.

Officers observed a second suspect also standing in the area of Brighton Avenue and Allston Street assertively approaching and trying to speak with pedestrians. Officers approached the suspect and identified themselves as Boston Police officers. The suspect attempted to run from officers, but was quickly apprehended. Officers recovered multiple wrapped boxes of Apple products.

A third suspect was located in the area of Harvard Avenue. As officers approached the suspect, he offered to sell officers Apple products. As officers identified themselves as Boston Police officers, the suspect attempted to run and a struggle ensued. Officers were able to place the suspect into handcuffs and recovered multiple wrapped boxes of Apple products.

A fourth suspect was located in the area of Brighton Avenue and Harvard Avenue. The suspect was observed holding a wrapped square box containing Apple Air Max Pro. Officers approached the suspect who stated to officers that the items were stolen from New York City.

After further investigation, officers learned that the suspects purchased the items from an unknown person in New York City. The suspects took a train to Boston to sell the items, and planned to return back to New York City.

The items that were recovered were 83 Apple AirPods Pro, 7 Apple AirPods Max, and 3 Apple Watches Ultra Two. A combined total of approximately $12,000 in stolen Apple products. Officers also recovered approximately $704 in US currency.

All four suspects were placed under arrest and charged with receiving stolen property over $1,200. Ibra Sow was additionally charged with furnishing false identification to a police officer. Dioum and Cheikhouna are also charged with resisting arrest. All are expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court.
