New Area to Be Added Inside Xidan Department Store to House Cultural Memories

The overall conceptual design for the renovation project of Xidan Department Store has been completed. The construction at the site is expected to begin in early 2024, and plans are to open the doors of this department store to customers in 2025. With a long history of 93 years, Xidan Department Store has long been a landmark in Xidan, one of the busiest business districts in Beijing.

A themed cultural area named "Xidan's Memory 1930", covering an area of 8,000 to 10,000 square meters, will be set up on the ground floor. It will become home to various businesses, including those for casual dining, cultural and artistic performances, as well as a cinema.
