Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 6501 Chimney Rock Road

January 3, 2023- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6501 Chimney Rock Road about 11:50 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 31).

The identity of the victim, believed to be in his 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Crowder and A. Vinogradov reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call in a strip center parking lot at the above address and observed the victim inside his vehicle. He had suffered a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates the man was shot following an apparent road rage incident. The suspects fled the area in a white or grey sedan.
