The European Commission published in February its Connectivity Package with a White Paper on the future of digital infrastructures in Europe, and a Recommendation on the security and resilience of submarine cable infrastructures.
HaDEA implements the CEF-Digital Programme to support digital connectivity infrastructures, including submarine cables for backbone connectivity.

In the South of Europe
Via Tunisia : new cable between Marseille (France) and Bizerte (Tunisia).
ATMED-DG: new cable between Lisbon (Portugal) and Mazara del Vallo (Italy) landing in Zahara de los Atunes, Torreguadiaro, Barcelona (Spain), and Marseille (France).
ATMED-EAST-DG: single fibre pair cable to connect the East-European landing ports in Crete (Greece) and Yeroskipou (Cyprus) to the landing point of Mazara del Vallo in Sicily (Italy).
In the Nordics
FNF EUR1 : new cable landing stations in Finland and Ireland, and a power feeding station in Norway.
Nordic Wav e: upgrading fibre networks for higher performance between Nordic countries and Central Europe.
Elisa Backbo ne: expanding the terrestrial network in the north-eastern Lapland region of Finland.
Tusass Connec t 2: establishment of terrestrial infrastructures in Aasiaat and Qaqortoq (Greenland).
In the Atlantic Area
PI SCES: new cable connecting Ireland and France's west coast.
Atlanti c CAM: new cable between mainland Portugal and the Azores, as well as from the Azores to Madeira.
GC-LNZ-F U-Ring: new cable between Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, Spain.
Canalink -Hierro: cable between the islands of El Hierro and Tenerife in the Canary Islands, Spain.
In the West Indies
CELIA: new cable connecting Le Lamentin (Martinique, France) and Baby Beach (Aruba, The Netherlands) to a future branch linking to the United States.
Caribbea n Connect: improved connectivity between La Guadeloupe (France), La Martinique (France) and Puerto Rico (United States).
The Commission has launched a public consultation on the proposed actions that is open until 30 June 2024.
