Morrison & Foerster Boston Partner Julie O’Neill Named Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2021 Top Women of Law Honoree

Morrison & Foerster is pleased to announce that Boston Privacy & Data Security Litigation partner Julie O'Neill has been named among Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly's 2021 Top Women of Law honorees. Top Women of Law celebrates the outstanding achievements of exceptional women. Each year, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly honors attorneys from across the spectrum of the legal profession. Honorees include educators, trailblazers, and role models, as well as public service lawyers who work in the trenches, attorneys who have dedicated their careers to non-profit work, private practice attorneys who have become leaders in their practice areas, and in-house counsel who have been instrumental in their companies' success.

Ms. O'Neill was recognized for her exceptional work both in and outside of the legal profession, including serving in the Peace Corps prior to law school, and then working on a joint program between the Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice aimed at helping Central and Eastern European countries with their antitrust and consumer protection legal regimes as they transitioned to market economies. She also previously worked in the FTC's New York office on consumer protection enforcement matters.

Today, as a partner in the firm's Boston office, she represents a wide range of companies, advising them on their privacy obligations, helping them navigate and comply with ever-changing consumer protection laws, and defending them if they are the subject of FTC investigations. In addition to her client work, Ms. O'Neill is also dedicated to mentoring junior associates at the firm, noting: "I believe our talent is our most important asset."

This year's honorees were announced during The Top Women of Law event on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the Copley Marriott in Boston. To learn more about the 2021 Top Women of Law honorees visit Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly's website.
