Town of Friendship - Town of Friendship Municipal Water System Improvements

Negative Declaration

Allegheny County - The Town of Friendship, as lead agency, has determined that the proposed Municipal Water System Improvements will not have a significant adverse environmental impact. The action involves the replacement of 8000-9000 foot of 4 inch watermain with larger diameter watermain and will replace approximately 4,000 foot of 4 inch watermain with 3 inch piping. The 6 inch watermain at the intersection of West Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue will be replaced with 12 inch mains (approximately 1,000 foot). An 8 inch watermain will be installed parallel to the existing watermain along Sunnyside Street to the reservoir (1,500-2,000 foot). The existing aged reservoir on Sunnyside Street will be replaced with a new water storage tank. The wellhouse for Wells 4/5 will receive interior piping and control piping pump improvements as well as a new generator. A booster pump station at Moss Brook Street will be constructed. A new water storage tank and new well will be developed south of the Hamlet of Niles off of NYS Route 275 (tax ID 195.-1-14.31). The existing 12 inch watermain will be extended 1,500-2,000 foot to the new well and water tank. The project is located on Russell Hall in the Town of Friendship in New York.
