W. Dale Clark Library Closes This Month

This month, the W. Dale Clark Library will close and a temporary branch will open to continue library services in downtown Omaha.

The W. Dale Clark site will be demolished in October, preparing the location for the construction of Mutual of Omaha's new headquarters.

The new temporary downtown library at 1410 Howard will remain open until renovations are complete on the new branch at 14th and Jones. The expected opening date for the Jones Street branch is March 1, 2023.

IMPORTANT DATES:

• August 28 - W. Dale Clark will close at the end of regular hours
• August 29 - Interim Branch at 1410 Howard Street opens. The daily hours are:
  Monday-Thursday 9 am - 7 pm; Friday and Saturday 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday 1 pm - 5 pm
• September 26 - Library staff will report to the Library Administration Building (LAB) at 3020 South 84th Street
• October 3 -The Genealogy and Research Room will open to the public at the LAB
