PennDOT's Greene County Maintenance Update -- Week of April 22, 2024

Uniontown, PA - Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Greene County Maintenance Manager Dale Baird announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 22, 2024. All maintenance activities are conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Base repair:

  • Route 218 (Smith Creek Road) in Franklin Township.
Bridge replacement:
  • ​Route 3018 (Behm Road) in Aleppo Township.
    • ​Road closed.
    • ​Detour is posted as follows:
      • Route 3018 (Behm Road) to
      • Route 3005 (Long Run Road) to
      • Route 3022 (Bristoria Road) to
      • Route 21 (W. Roy E. Furman Highway) to
      • Route 3001 (Aleppo Road) to
      • Route 3018 (Behm Road).
Debris removal:
  • ​Route 88 (Point Marion Road) in Monongahela and Dunkard townships.
Litter and debris removal:
  • Interstate 79 in Franklin, Perry, Washington, and Whiteley townships.
Pipe flushing:
  • Route 88 (Point Marion Road) in Monongahela and Dunkard townships.
Rock lining:
  • Route 19 (Washington Road) in Washington Township.
Spray patching:
  • Interstate 79 in Franklin, Perry, Washington, and Whiteley townships, plus various routes throughout the county.
Storm clean-up/drainage maintenance:
  • ​Various state routes throughout the county. ​

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit. ​

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the County.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
