The APTA Future of Physical Therapy Summit Is Almost Here - And You're Invited

Register now to join us virtually or in person for this one-of-a-kind event with an international perspective.

Date: Wednesday, August 4, 2021

It might be impossible to pinpoint exactly where the physical therapy profession will have arrived after its next 100 years - but it's important to discuss the landscape it could be traveling along the way. You're invited to be a part of that discussion.

Now open for virtual RSVPs and in-person attendance: the APTA Future of Physical Therapy Summit, an all-day event on Sept. 13 that promises to be one of the hallmark offerings of the association's centennial celebration happening Sept. 10-14.

The summit, which will be broadcast live from the Capital Turnaround in Washington, D.C., features thought leaders from around the world delivering their perspectives on the promises and challenges the physical therapy profession is likely to encounter as it journeys into its second century. Sessions will be organized around three main themes: building community, advancing the profession, and improving the health of society.

Speakers include APTA President Sharon L Dunn, PT, PhD; Natalie Beswetherick, OBE, MCSP, MBA, director of practice and development at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in the United Kingdom; Scott Willis, BAppSc (Physio), the first Indigenous man to be elected as national president of the Australian Physiotherapy Association; and many other notable live guests from across the nation and around the world. The event also will feature special prerecorded messages from select leaders in the profession. The summit begins at 8:30 a.m. ET, and concludes at 3 p.m.

Two Ways to Attend: In-Person and Virtual (Including Watch Parties)

The summit will include an in-person audience but also will be broadcast for live online viewing, with the ability to interact with other viewers and possibly the speakers themselves through questions submitted online.

Joining the Summit Online; Hosting a Watch Party
Securing a virtual seat at the event is simple: just click on the orange RSVP button at the top of the Summit Event page.

But consider making your viewing more social by getting a group together to participate in a watch party - maybe for your clinic, education program, or just among other PTs, PTAs, and students you know. Get the ball rolling by letting us know you're interested. Bonus: The first 20 watch parties to register will receive special swag from APTA.

Attending In-Person
Although capacity is limited, there are still a few seats available to attend the summit in person at the Capital Turnaround, a historic yet state-of-the-art event space in downtown Washington, D.C. Deadline for in-person ticket purchases is Aug. 13, so don't delay.
