Two more areas targeted by City's Good to Great program

The City of Taylor's "Good to Great Neighborhood Improvement Program" is opening in two new areas to begin the spring season: Area #33 (between Goddard, Allen, Northline and Pardee roads) and Area #34 (Northline, Allen, I-75, Eureka and Racho).

Good to Great focuses on making enhancements such as general beautification, park improvements, signage, tree trimming, utilities, roads, catch basins, neighborhood businesses, LED lighting, blight removal, sewer maintenance and even public safety.

Letters have already been mailed to residents in those areas. All electronic feedback can be directed to Good to Great Program Coordinator Sam DiCicco at [email protected].

As part of this program, the Taylor Police will be holding a meet-and-greet with residents in an effort to get a better understanding of the safety concerns in the targeted areas. The gathering will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 in Heritage Park's Sheridan Center Open Air Pavilion.

G2G will continue to offer free mulch. The City of Taylor have free mulch located in the following locations:

  • Heritage Park, Pardee Road parking lot near the digital sign.
  • At the end of Katherine and Clinton streets.
  • At the southeast corner of McKinley and Goldenridge streets.
  • Northline Road and Ziegler.
  • At the dead end of Jackson and Chestnut streets.
  • On Superior Road, west of the railroad tracks.

Mulch will be kept there as long as it is being used, during the program. All you have to do is cart it to your location. As the mulch piles deplete, the City will restock.

The G2G program was first rolled out in April 2018.
