Work of regular sittings of National Assembly begins

On April 9, the National Assembly began the work of the regular sittings. The parliament approved the agenda of the sittings. The debate of some items in the second reading will be held after passing them in the first reading during twenty-four hours.

The proposing amendments are conditioned by making more effective the control in the spheres of feed safety and phytosanitary. The RA Deputy Minister of Economy Tatevik Sargsyan said this, presenting for debate of the parliament in the first reading the legislative package on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on State Control of Food Safety, on Making Amendments and Addenda to the law on Feed and on Making Addenda to the law on State Duty.

It is proposed to increase the control tools within the framework of state control. The complete list of permissible documents being provided within the framework of the competence of the authorized body and the notion of the national reference laboratory are defined by the initiative in case of import, export and transit transportation of the controlling goods, the list of the accompanying documents substantiating the security is edited. Other amendments are also proposed.

The deputy of the NA Civil Contract Faction Sisak Gabrielyan inquired the rapporteur if the issue of exporting dairy products from Armenia to Russia and importing dairy products from there to Armenia will be solved, as Russia prohibited the import of the dairy products from Armenia to its country/ "Every day we enter a shop and see that the Armenian product decreases gradually, and the market that prohibited us to import goods there, their product is on the sale," he said, noting that the entities applied to the Ministry still 5-6 months ago related to the problem.

As the Deputy Minister informed, the issue will not be settled by this legislative initiative. Sisak Gabrielayn proposed to solve the issue, in response to this, Tatevik Sargsyan positively reacted.

The Head Committee endorsed the draft.
