(Press Release) Dividend yields of KOSPI market corporations

The Korea Exchange analyzed cash dividends, dividend yields, pay-out ratios and stock price change rates of the KOSPI market-listed corporations that settled accounts in December.
According to the analysis, out of 784 KOSPI market-listed corporations that close their accounts in December, 557 corporations (71.0%) paid cash dividends in 2022, and the total dividend amount was KRW 26.6 trillion, down 7.1% from KRW 28.6 trillion in 2021.
Out of the total 557 corporations that paid cash dividends, 446 corporations (80.1%) have paid cash dividends for 5 consecutive years and the average dividend yield posted 2.7%, the highest in the past 5 years. Such numbers indicate that the efforts of corporations to return corporate profits to shareholders through dividends continue.
