CDC: Serious reactions to Pfizer vaccine in children rare

About 8.9 million children aged 12-17 have received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported today. Based on data from U.S. vaccine safety monitoring systems, mild local and systemic reactions are common in this age group after receiving the vaccine, especially the second dose, but serious adverse events are rare, CDC said.
