Vegetation removal Tuesday on Kamehameha Hwy in Kaneohe, Kahaluu areas

HONOLULU, Nov. 30, 2023 - Hawaiian Electric crews will remove overgrown vegetation along Kamehameha Highway in the Kaneohe and Kahaluu areas on Tuesday, Dec. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The work will close sections of Kamehameha Hwy. just before Laenani Drive and approaching Kahekili Highway by Kahaluu Pond as crews progress along the highway. Traffic will be contraflowed in the open traveling lane within the work zone and street parking restricted in the vicinity. As needed, traffic may be paused momentarily when both directions need to be closed as crews cross over to work on the opposite side of the highway.
Safety signs will alert the public of the work zone, and traffic cones and flagmen will direct motorists to the contraflow lane. Motorists are urged to slow down when approaching and passing the work zone, plan ahead for traffic delays or avoid the area during the work hours.
