Non Permanent Qualified Teacher - Expression of interest - Registration

Would you like to embark on a career in the Civil Service?

If the answer is YES, look no further and express your interest in registration on the Department of Education's Non-Permanent Qualified Teacher List.

HM Government of Gibraltar is as from today, inviting any qualified teacher who is living in Gibraltar and who would like to register as a Non-Permanent Qualified Teacher for the Department of Education, to do so using the registration form which can be accessed via the QR Code below.

  • Salary: £28,481 pro rata.
  • Those who wish to express an interest to register must, by virtue of their citizenship, be entitled to take up employment in Gibraltar and on taking up appointment they must be resident in Gibraltar.
  • Interested parties must have a clear Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check from all countries where you have resided dated no more than 1 month from the closing date for registration.
  • Individuals who wish to express their interest must possess a degree and have attained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) under Department of Education (UK) regulations or have attained Gibraltar Qualified Teacher Status (GQTS) or be completing their training and attaining this status before 1 September 2024. Those applicants who have not obtained GQTS are reminded that this is also a requirement and should complete the online form at education.gov.gi.

  • Application and vetting forms may be obtained from the Government of Gibraltar website at gibraltar.gov.gi/new/press-releases under the filter of "Official Notices"
  • Application forms along with copies of qualifications and completed vetting form with copies of your Passport or ID Card must be submitted to the Director of Personnel and Development via email at: [email protected]
  • All form submissions will be reviewed, and all individuals will be contacted in due course. Interested individuals should note that those successful in registering on the supply list will be required to attend an induction day with the Department of Personnel and Development prior to employment.

• The deadline to apply is 5th April 2024 at 15:00hrs.

Please be aware that this process does not entitle you to employment. Instead, it allows you to be contracted if work becomes available, however, you must be on the supply list to be eligible to apply for permanent positions and fixed term contracts that may arise in the Department of Education.
