New Meal Program for Older Adults Debuts Feb. 1

On Feb. 1 the City of Poway debuts a new dining experience for older adults at the Mickey Cafagna Community Center. With the financial support of the Friends of Poway Seniors, the City is partnering with Charlie's Classic Cooking to provide delicious lunches for our older adult meal program. To help celebrate the new program, the first 50 meals reserved for February 1, 2, and 3 will be provided for free.

Oak Hall West in the community center will be transformed into a dining room from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Our guests will be seated and served a delicious meal while enjoying time around a table with others. The daily menu will include a protein, veggie or salad, starch and even dessert.

Chef Charlie Heineke has more than 40 years of experience cooking in restaurants, hotels, hospitals and community churches. He has a passion for keeping the food delicious and keeping his customers happy. He is committed to using guest feedback to continually fine-tune his culinary offerings.

You do not need to be considered an "older adult" to try it out. Check out our tiered pricing schedule and details on how to reserve your lunch at poway.org/olderadults.

In order to keep our pricing low and keep food waste to a minimum, we do require that you reserve/pay for your meal at the front desk of the community center by 12 p.m. the day prior to when you would like to join us. For your convenience, you can purchase multiple meals in advance.
