New Herodotus Basin Fast-Track Seismic Shows Encouraging Imaging of Fault Structures and Potential Traps

OSLO, Norway (9 October 2024) - TGS, a global leader in energy data and intelligence, is pleased to announce the availability of fast-track data from the Nefertiti Multi-Client 3D seismic survey conducted in partnership with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS). The survey combines the cutting-edge capabilities of TGS' Ramform fleet with GeoStreamer broadband acquisition technology.

With this survey, TGS has expanded its 3D GeoStreamer data coverage to further understand the potential in the shelf and transform margin domains in the western part of Egypt's Mediterranean offshore area.

The survey is situated near the Sidi Barrani-1 well in the far west of Egypt's offshore Mediterranean and covers shallow to medium water depths within the shelf and transform margin domains. The proximity to the well will add control to the full-integrity imaging. Targets are likely to be Lower Cretaceous and Middle Jurassic structures with clastic reservoirs.

Using TGS GeoStreamer technology, this broadband-rich data provides information in both low and high frequencies, which can be reliably used for structural interpretation and rock property analysis.

David Hajovsky, TGS Executive Vice President of Multi-Client, commented, "The Nefertiti survey is our furthest expansion west in the southern Herodotus Basin. Our high-quality 3D seismic data offers unparalleled access to valuable resources and insights, paving the way for future licensing round success in the area."

The fast-track depth imaging (KPSDM) products covering this area are now available for licensing. Please contact [email protected] for further information or to arrange a data viewing.
