Optek Transmissive IR Switches from TTI
Fort Worth, Texas - September 16, 2021 - TTI, Inc., a leading specialty distributor of electronic components, is now stocking the OPB620 family of Transmissive Optical Switches from TT Electronics - Optek. These switches are targeted for the medical and industrial applications, manufacturing automation, safety and security equipment.
The TT Electronics - Optek OPB620 Slotted Optical Switches consist of an infrared emitting diode and an NPN silicon phototransistor with an enhanced low current roll-off to improve contrast ratio and immunity to background irradiance. The OPB621 Slotted Optical Switch consists of an infrared emitting diode and a PIN photodiode with a polysulfone housing that is opaque to visible light but transmissive to infrared. The low tr/tf of the PIN photodiode is ideal for high-speed operation. The sensitivity to ambient radiation is greatly minimized. These switches are targeted for unique sensing applications where non-contact presence or movement detection is critical.
