The mission to Alaska will be a key opportunity for Premier Smith to champion the province as a safe, secure, affordable and reliable energy partner and strengthen relationships with regional policymakers and business leaders that will bolster North American energy security and help get Alberta's energy products to U.S. markets and the world.

During her time in Anchorage, Premier Smith will meet with Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy to share approaches on energy development and emissions reduction, building on Governor Dunleavy's successful visit to Alberta in March.

Premier Smith will also speak at the Alaska Sustainable Energy Conference where she will spotlight Alberta's responsible energy development and strong environmental record, including the province's work on clean technology and innovation, hydrogen, carbon capture, utilization and storage, small modular reactors, renewable energy and more.

"Alberta and Alaska have a long-standing history when it comes to sharing approaches on energy development, and this is a relationship that I am excited to strengthen. Alberta is showing that it is possible to be a world leader in responsible, ethical energy production and a provider of reliable, affordable, sustainable energy - all while reducing emissions."

Danielle Smith, Premier

Premier Smith will travel with three staff members. Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.

Alberta's government is committed to working with its national and international partners to advance shared interests that can lead to new opportunities for people and businesses in Alberta and around the world.
