Leaf Program Update
The Village's leaf pickup program is in its final week. All leaves must have been put out no later than Sunday, November 26.
So far this week, the Village has completed pickup in the following areas:
- Monday - Old Town North: East side of Hampton Avenue to Lawn Avenue
- Tuesday - Old Town North: West Side of Hampton Avenue to Tollway
- Wednesday - Old Town South, Ridge Acres, and Fairview Estates
- Thursday - Central Avenue and Fair Elms Avenue, north of 51st Street
Village crews will not return for any additional leaf pickup in the above locations. Leaves may no longer be left at the curb or placed into the street. Residents are responsible for communicating this deadline to their landscaping services. Residents are required to remove any remaining leaves from the street or the parkway, and to mow leaves, use them as mulch in garden beds, or hire landscapers to remove them.
Information about the leaf collection deadline was included in a postcard mailed to all residents in October, on the Village website, on the Village Facebook page, as well as via a Rave Alert voicemail/text/email to all registered households. Remember, no pumpkins, flowers, trimmings, or other items are permitted at the curb - leaves only.
