RELEASE: New OPM Workforce of the Future Playbook Prioritizes a Skilled, Inclusive, and Agile and Engaged Federal Workforce

Washington, DC - The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) released a new Workforce of the Future Playbooktoday supporting a federal workforce that is inclusive, agile and engaged, and equipped with the right skills to deliver for the American people. The Playbook provides concrete actions that agencies can take to build and equip the workforce of the future, incorporating new strategies and sharing best practices across government.

The Workforce of the Future Playbook outlines specific actions agencies can take, organized into three pillars of OPM's vision - inclusive, agile and engaged, and equipped with the right skills. To help agencies achieve this future state, OPM has highlighted twelve priority areas:

Coming soon, OPM will provide guidance through webinars,training, and technical assistance from subject matter experts to support agencies in their implementation of these strategies. The Playbook will serve as the building block for a future workforce that promotes increased effectiveness and efficiency in service to the American people.
