Arrest made in Assault of Toronto Police Officer, Queen Street West and Duncan Street area

The Toronto Police Service is making the public aware of an arrest made in an Assault Peace Officer investigation.

On Monday, April 8, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., a uniformed Toronto Police officer was walking in the Queen Street West and Duncan Street area.

It is alleged that:

• the accused approached the officer and engaged them in conversation
• the accused assaulted the officer
• the officer sustained non-life threatening injuries
• the accused was arrested with the help of a member of the public

Fabian Quiones Penaloza, 31, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

1. Assault Peace Officer

He was scheduled to appear at Toronto Regional Bail Centre, 2201 Finch Avenue West, on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 10 a.m., in room 301.
