New York State Police Investigating Shooting in Tops Parking Lot

The New York State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours at 3385 Main Street, in the parking lot of Tops.

At approximately 2:54 a.m., Troopers responded to a 911 call reporting an altercation at the Tops parking lot. Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect, who arrived in a dark-colored Chevrolet pickup truck, exited his vehicle and engaged in a physical altercation with the victim. During the altercation, the suspect shot the victim.

The suspect was last seen leaving the scene westbound on Main Street in the dark-colored Chevrolet pickup. The suspect is described as a white male wearing a green camouflage shirt with a hunting tag on the back.

The victim, who was pronounced deceased has been tentatively identified as Jacob Walsh, age 32 from Mexico, NY.
