Harmonious Art Group 24th Annual Exhibition

Updated on 04/04/2024 1:30 PM

In celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the City presents the 24th annual member exhibit featuring the artwork of the Harmonious Art Group. The exhibit is on display through June 16, 2024, at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park. Meet the artists during a free reception on Saturday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to view the artwork in person and learn about this special genre of art.

This year celebrates the 31st anniversary of the Harmonious Art Group, whose work features both traditional and contemporary Asian artwork. The group was founded by Bertrand Mao, master of Chinese Shan-Shui (Mountain-Water) and calligraphy, and John Wang, master of Chinese calligraphy and seal cutting, to share the beauty of this ancient art form with the community. Over the years members have incorporated new techniques and styles demonstrating the diversity of Chinese art.

There are 38 pieces in the exhibit and the artists include founders Bertrand Mao and John Wang, with members Jessica Chen, Meilih Chiang, Tiny Cholvibul, Joanne Dai, BinJi Huang, exhibit organizer Natacha Lo, LiWen Quach, and Carole Yee. A special thanks to the group for curating and installing the exhibition.

Please note that most of the included artwork is for sale and all images are copyrighted by the artists.
