Denver Police Arrest Suspect in 2000 Block N. Broadway Homicide

Denver - Tuesday, September 17, 2024 - Today, the Denver Police Department announces the arrest of Jasmane Taylor (DOB: 12/24/89) for the homicide of an adult female, which occurred in the 2000 block of North Broadway on September 7, 2024.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., on Monday, September 9, 2024, paramedics responded to the 2000 block of N. Broadway St. on a requested welfare check. When paramedics arrived, they found an adult female deceased in her residence. Further investigation determined the victim died under suspicious circumstances.

Investigators, with the help of witnesses and surveillance video, determined the death was a homicide that occurred on September 7, 2024. Investigators identified Jasmane Taylor as the suspect and on September 13, 2024, during an unrelated investigation, Taylor was contacted and arrested. Taylor and the victim were known to each other, and the death was the result of Taylor assaulting the victim. Taylor is currently being held for investigation of one count of First-Degree Murder.

Per standard protocol, the final determination of charges will be made by the Denver District Attorney's Office. The Office of the Medical Examiner will release the victim's identity and cause and manner of death.
