SummaCare's Medicare Advantage Plan Earns 4.5-Star Rating From the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

AKRON, Ohio, October 14, 2021- SummaCare announced today its Medicare Advantage plan has been recognized with a 4.5-Star (out of 5) overall rating for 2022 by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The new rating is an increase from SummaCare's 4-Star rating in 2021 and underscores the company's commitment to providing quality products and services to its Medicare members.
The annual quality ratings help consumers determine how well a health plan is performing in areas such as:
- How satisfied members are with the health plan
- How effective the health plan assists its providers in prevention and detection of illnesses
- How well the health plan maintains the overall well-being of its members
- How quickly the health plan responds to members' needs in regards to receiving care and addressing members' concerns, including appeals
"Star ratings are important for consumers during this time of year, when many people are choosing their Medicare Advantage plans for 2022," said Dr. Charles A. Zonfa, SummaCare chief medical officer.
