New Downtown Recycling Containers

Downtown Partners, the City of Sioux City, the Environmental Advisory Board, and Gill Hauling collaborated to install eight new containers in the downtown area to bolster the recycling efforts in Sioux City. The containers are easily identified by the brightly colored and creative artwork that was designed by local artist Jessica Hammond of Brutal Doodles. An official unveiling took place today at a press conference held at 4th Street & Iowa Street.

The recycling containers will be available for businesses and residents to use as an alternate location to recycle paper, plastic, aluminum, and cardboard materials. Container locations are listed on the City's website at www.sioux-city.org/downtownrecycling. Information is also available in the Solid Waste and Recycling Brochures located at Customer Service in City Hall, 405 6th Street. The Ripple Glass containers are still available at six (6) locations throughout the city for glass recycling.

Recycling containers may be found at the following eight (8) downtown locations:

- Tyson Events Center - Convention Center on Jones St.
- 5th St. & Water St. - 5th St. & Court St.
- Pearl Street Park - 4th St. & Iowa St.
- 3rd St. & Pierce St. - STF Expo Center Parking Lot
