Giving back to our global communities

Across the globe, nearly 1,000 employees came together in celebration of Global Volunteer Week to give back to their local communities.

Giving back to the communities where we live and work has a been a part of General Mills' story from the beginning. This year for Global Volunteer Week, nearly 1,000 employees came together to volunteer and make a greater impact. Keep reading to see how teams around the world spent their time during Global Volunteer Week.

U.S. manufacturing plants

Manufacturing teams from plant locations in Milwaukee, WI; Geneva, IL; Covington, GA; Cedar Rapids, IA; and Fridley, MN, volunteered with local food banks and nonprofit partners to pack meals and support their hometown communities.

Mumbai, India

Volunteers from our Mumbai office made 1,131 seed balls containing various fruits and vegetables seeds to be distributed to local tribal and rural communities.

Ontario and Montreal, Canada

Volunteers from our Mississauga, Ontario office put together feminine hygiene and regular hygiene kits and donated them to United Way. The team also planted 125 native trees and shrubs at a local park.

Employees at our Montreal, Quebec office prepared meals for the clients of the United Way Multi-Cafeteria.

Global Volunteer Week may have come to an end, but giving back to the communities where we live and work doesn't stop there. Whether through charitable giving or volunteerism, our employees use their skills, expertise and passion to help strengthen their communities.
