Year 2 of Techstars Physical Health Accelerator starts with 10 firms

A new cohort of companies was announced earlier this week for the second year of the Techstars Physical Health Fort Worth Accelerator.

Why it matters: Techstars is a global investment business that provides access to capital, one-on-one mentorship and customized programming for early-stage entrepreneurs. Fort Worth's Techstars program is a three-year initiative spearheaded by the University of North Texas Health Science Center (HSC), along with the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County and Goff Capital.

Go deeper: The accelerator is focused on supporting companies that are building new technologies, treatments and therapies in the physical health space. The 10 selected startups from around the world will participate in an intensive 13-week program, receiving hands-on mentorship, curated entrepreneurial content and programming, and access to a vast network of mentors, investors, alumni and influential corporate executives.

This latest Techstars Physical Health Fort Worth Accelerator cohort will be one of the first tenants in the new Create FW coworking space and entrepreneurship center in the Near Southside.

• Brilliantly: This company's flagship product, Brilliantly Warm, provides flexible and safe warmth for your entire body, all from your bra.
• ComeBack Mobility: The ComeBack Mobility Smart Crutch Tips are an IoT biofeedback device and mobile app that guides patients on how to apply the right amount of force to the recovering limb while using their crutches at-home.
• Comma: This company is building the first HIPAA-compliant menstruation tracking app and are also developing a biodegradable feminine hygiene product.
• Hera Fertility: This digital-first fertility clinic offers technology-driven diagnosis, telehealth consultations, and personalized treatment for both women and men relating to infertility, including assisted reproductive technology services.
• LUBU Technologies: This company develops smart insoles powered by AI, which are designed to reduce fitness-related injuries and improve performance.
• Maya AI: Maya is a self-learning voice-based AI agent that helps scientists extract data, update documentation, and create proposed action plans from changing data.
• Pulse Charter Connect: This software as service (SaaS) solution for critical healthcare logistics makes the transportation of human organs for transplant patients faster, less expensive, and safer.
• Somos: This company is building a healthcare and wellness "super app" for Latin Americans, starting with a version that aggregates body signals from glucose sensors, wearables, and lab tests to help people with pre-diabetes and diabetes understand how their body reacts to food and other habits.
• Vessl Prosthetics: This company's patent-pending isoform socket is the only product of its kind that automatically adjusts to changes in leg size in amputees, thereby empowering them to move comfortably and ensuring their prosthetic fits correctly.
• Xplosion Technology: This digital health platform is aimed at adolescent diabetes management, with a strong emphasis on health equity. Through the integration of advanced technologies like machine learning and real-time data analysis, Xplosion provides personalized support and tools to facilitate effective self-management of diabetes.
