Sigrid Kozmiensky to join BayernLB’s Board of Management as Chief Risk Officer

Munich - The Supervisory Board of BayernLB has appointed Sigrid Kozmiensky to the Bank's Board of Management. The veteran risk manager is slated to take up her role there as Chief Risk Officer (CRO) on 1 July 2024, subject to confirmation by the banking supervisory authority. Kozmiensky (*1973) is currently on the Management Board of ING Germany, where she has been serving as CRO since 2020.

Dr Wolf Schumacher, who chairs BayernLB's Supervisory Board, had this to say: "I'm very grateful to have Ms Kozmiensky, an experienced and highly capable risk manager, join the Board of Management as Marcus Kramer's successor. With her vast expertise and network of professional contacts, she will undoubtedly bring new, important ideas to the table and be an asset to BayernLB. At the same time, I'd also like to thank Marcus Kramer for his years of dedicated service and a job well done. He is passing on to Sigrid Kozmiensky a prudently managed credit portfolio. And it is with that same thoughtfulness that he informed us early on of his future plans, allowing for a smooth transition to a new Chief Risk Officer."

BayernLB CEO Stephan Winkelmeier added: "The BayernLB Board of Management and the entire Group are looking forward to working with our new colleague. Now that our Bank has transformed itself so successfully, we're looking to take our positioning as financiers of progress to the next level, with Sigrid Kozmiensky on board, as she has the necessary expertise and personality. We thank our fellow Board of Management member Marcus Kramer, a trusted, highly appreciated colleague, for all his fruitful work with us throughout the years."

Born in Nuremberg, Kozmiensky, a business graduate, began her professional career in 2002 as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Frankfurt. Her responsibilities there included managing risk and accounting projects for Landesbanks and real estate banks. In 2006 she joined ING Germany, where she assumed various supervisory roles in risk management before switching to the ECB. In 2014, she moved to the European Central Bank where she was a Joint Supervisory Team Coordinator, taking on a leading role in the supervision of global systemically important banks. In 2019, she returned to ING Germany as Deputy CRO and was appointed to the Executive Board in 2020.
