Government of Serbia adopts several decrees, decisions

At today's session, the government adopted the Proposal for the Decree amending the Decree on the Conditions of Delivery and Supply of Natural Gas in order to reduce costs and shorten the time necessary to connect new consumers of natural gas, i.e., residential buildings A.

The session also adopted the Draft Decree Amending the Decree on the Conditions and Criteria for the Compliance of State Aid in the Field of Public Information, which, based on comparative practice, also regulates the financing of the production of media content aimed at achieving public interest in that field.

In this way, this area is additionally harmonised with European legal acquis concerning potential users of state aid in the field of public information, correction of technical errors, clarification of certain provisions in order to remove ambiguities in order to more effectively implement them in practice.

Members of the government made decisions on the establishment of the Council for Gender Equality as an advisory body in which civil society is included in the broadest scope, thus strengthening the democratic capacity to achieve the most important goals and measures contained in the Strategy for Gender Equality.

The topics that the Council will deal with are the empowerment of gender-sensitive categories of the population through the application of appropriate measures, building and improving the capacity of institutions for the implementation of gender equality policy, and raising public awareness of the importance of gender equality in society.

The Council should also contribute to the construction of European and international standards and values in the field of human rights, which will also contribute to the democratization of society, sustainable development and the process of joining the European Union.

At the session, the Conclusion on determining the basis for the accession of the Republic of Serbia to the Convention on the Prevention of Illegal Acts Related to International Civil Aviation was adopted, whereby our country supported the joint efforts of the international community in preventing terrorist acts directed against civil aviation and confirmed its readiness to prosecute and punish the perpetrators.

Members of the government also made decisions on the cooperation of several municipalities in Serbia with municipalities and cities in other countries: on the cooperation of the municipalities of Ljubovija and Straza from Slovenia in the fields of economy, agriculture, tourism, education, culture, sports, health care, environmental protection and local of self-government, as well as the Decision on the cooperation of the Municipality of Sremski Karlovci with the Municipality of Prnjavor, Republika Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the field of economy, agriculture, culture, sports and tourism.

Also, a Decision was made on the cooperation of the Municipality of Lebane with the Municipality of Krivogastani in North Macedonia in the fields of economy, education, sports, culture, ecology, information technology, tourism, as well as the establishment of cross-border cooperation according to projects of European funds.

The City of Leskovac will establish cooperation with the Municipality of Strumica, Republic of North Macedonia, in the field of economic, business and scientific-technical development, social protection, education, culture and sports, and with the City of Oaxaca De Juarez from the Federal Mexican State of Oaxaca, in the field of economy, business and science - technical development, social protection, education, culture and sports.
