Celebrating new solar sites in cooperative system

Oct. 26, 2021

Dairyland's member cooperative, MiEnergy, hosted a dedication on Oct. 25 in Rushford, Minn., at one of the four solar energy sites coming online in its service territory. The Dairyland member cooperative has a power purchase agreement (PPA) with OneEnergy Renewables for the 9 MW of electricity generated by solar arrays in Minnesota's Rushford Village, Fountain, Lanesboro and Stockton.

Combined, the sites will generate enough electricity to power approximately 1,900 homes. Dairyland will purchase the power from three of four solar sites, for a total of 7.5 MW. Dairyland VP, Strategic Growth John Carr, Chief Member Relations and HR Officer Amanda Hoefling and Manager, Community and Economic Development Craig Harmes participated in the event.

MiEnergy Cooperative serves more than 18,800 members via 5,500 miles of line in northeastern Iowa and southeastern Minnesota.
