(Washington, D.C. April 16th, 2024) - Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace (R-SC) announced the introduction of the Sue Victimizers and Offenders who Yield Explicit Unconsented Recordings Surreptitiously Act, also known as the Sue VOYEURS Act. This legislation aims to allow victims of video voyeurism to sue their offenders and prevent the unauthorized capture and sharing of intimate images and videos.
"Voyeurism violates people's privacy and dignity, and causes unimaginable trauma. This legislation is going to do something about that," said Congresswoman Mace. "No one should be filmed while in vulnerable or intimate moments without their knowledge or consent. Victims of video and photo voyeurism should have the ability to seek justice and hold perpetrators accountable for their repulsive behavior."
