February 21 Update:

Flooring installation in the link has begun and is expected to take 3-4 weeks to complete. City Hall access will be fluid dependent on progress, but will generally be available through the north entrance (nearest to the parking garage). As conditions permit, building access through the link and north entrances will be utilized.

December 12 Update:

November 20 Update:

The Police Department main entrance is currently inaccessible from Miner Street due to the ongoing construction. To access the building, follow the posted signage and enter from the north side, nearest to the Civic Center Garage.

November 9 Update:

The City Hall entrance facing Miner Street has reopened.

November 2 Update:

The City Hall entrance facing Miner Street is temporarily closed due to the ongoing construction. To access City Hall, please follow posted signage and enter from the north side of the building, nearest to the Civic Center Garage. After hours, payments for utility bills can be dropped off at the Police Station next door.

July 6 Update:

The City of Des Plaines is embarking on a multi-million-dollar renovation to the Des Plaines Police Department facilities. Modernizing this space will make sure that our dedicated officers can protect our community effectively and efficiently.

Key elements of the project include:

Phase I: The construction of an addition between the City Hall and Police Station to form a common entry, lobby, and reception area for both buildings. This will be a one-story enclosure of the existing covered walkway connecting the two buildings. The first floor will also include police department reception, common toilet rooms, and report writing rooms.

Phase II: The construction of a two-story approximately 20,000 sf addition to the existing Police Station.

Phase III: Selective areas of interior renovation of the existing Police Station building after completion and addition.

Please note that during the construction, access to facilities may be limited or altered to accommodate work. Follow posted signage for access.

The payment drop-box may be unavailable for a time. Please plan to bring payments to the front counter or pay by mail or online.
