Medina County: Construction update

MEDINA COUNTY- (Thursday, April 18, 2024) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Medina County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting and is subject to change.

State Route 18 major reconstruction -State Route 18, from just west of Alber Drive to Nettleton Road, will have single lane closures as crews widen and reconstruct the roadway.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

  • Crews continue to grade for sidewalk installation.
  • Traffic is directed to use the legal U-turns at Nettleton Road and Frontage Road to reach businesses in the area.
  • SR 18 widening is complete, and final paving operations are anticipated to begin the end of May 2024.
  • The traffic configuration on SR 18 will have a minimum of one lane in each direction.

Estimated completion: June 2024

State Route 18 bridge replacements -State Route 18, between SR 83 and Bryenton Road, will have single lane closures for 225 days to complete project work. Traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signals. The lanes of traffic will be narrowed to 12' width max. Estimated completion: November 2024State Route 162 culvert replacement -State Route 162, between Ridge Road (SR 94) and State Road, will close Monday, April 22 for a culvert replacement. The detour route will be SR 162 east to SR 94 north to SR 18 east to I-77 south to SR 21 south to SR 162 west, and reverse. Estimated completion: Friday, May 3, 2024
