Man Charged with Assault and False Imprisonment After Approaching Woman in Elevator

Investigation by Special Victims Division detectives resulted in the arrest of Jamien Taylor, 26, who on April 4 allegedly followed a woman into an elevator near Public Square Park and made unwanted sexual advances toward her.

The victim reported that Taylor moved within inches of her and began telling her he was going to kiss her. She pushed him away and exited the elevator when the door opened. He was later identified from surveillance video.

Taylor is charged with assault and false imprisonment. Detectives located additional video showing Taylor following other women. No other victims have been identified. Anyone with information about Taylor is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
