Residential Re-Leaf Tree Planting: Vouchers Available

The City has opened the Residential Re-Leaf program, where St. John's residents can apply for a $200 voucher towards the purchase of a tree to plant on their property. There are 150 vouchers available.

Applications can be submitted directly by filling out an online form. An alternate format is available to submit via email at [email protected] or in person at Access St. John's on the first floor of City Hall during business hours 8 a.m. to 4 pm. Monday to Friday. Forms are also available in person at Access St. John's.

Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024. Eligible applications will be entered into a draw. Successful applicants will receive their voucher by mail in late June.

The Residential Re-Leaf program aims to expand St. John's urban forest by encouraging property owners to plant trees on their property. This initiative continues to help the City of St. John's achieve its goal of increasing the number and density of trees in the city.

Since 2019, the City has distributed over 600 vouchers to St. John's residents resulting in hundreds of trees planted on homeowner properties. More details can be found here.
