Launch of the ‘#ilmondofralerighe’ communication campaign on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day

Today, on World Book and Copyright Day, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched the social communication campaign '#ilmondofralerighe', created with the aim of enhancing and further fuelling the world's growing interest in the Italian publishing industry.

The initiative comes in a crucial year for Italian books in the world. 2024 sees Italy as guest of honour at a number of major international events in the publishing sector: from the Tunis (19-28 April) and Warsaw (23-26 May) Book Fairs to the Frankfurt Buchmesse (16-20 October). Like a red thread connecting these prestigious events, the 24th edition of the Week of the Italian Language in the World (Settimana della lingua Italiana nel mondo, SLIM) - scheduled from 14 to 20 October - will be dedicated to books, with the evocative title 'L'italiano e il libro: il mondo fra le righe' (Italian and the book: the world between the lines).

During the course of the #ilmondofralerighe communication campaign, which will run until the SLIM, testimonies of foreign personalities from the institutional and cultural world, who will talk about their connection with Italian books, will be published on the social channels managed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, by its network of embassies and consulates and by the Italian Cultural Institutes.

The initiative will thus voice the world's passion for Italian books, both in their original language and translated. A passion that the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs nurtures every day as part of its cultural diplomacy action to support the projection of the Italian publishing industry abroad.
