The third round of the CLA-negotiations easyJet

In this newsletter, we would like to update you and your colleagues regarding the CLA-negotiations. As mentioned in the Q&A's, we are quite positive about the constructive discussions. EasyJet has made some new improvements in their counterproposal and we are optimistic about the proposal. It does not fit our expectations yet, so we rejected the second offer.

EasyJet has made some major steps towards a Pay Structure (loongebouw) and a nominal pay increase, which is close to our expectations. EasyJet has made an important step regarding the travelling allowance and on pension contribution, which is close to our demands.

For now, we have some discussions about the extended duties and the levels in pay structure. EasyJet is suggesting a duration of two years and because of the content of the proposal, we are seriously considering to approve a CLA of two years if the pay structure (loongebouw) is good enough.

On the 23rd of November we will have the fourth round of the negotiations and we hope to have clarity about the process then. If we will reach a tentative agreement on that day or we have to send an ultimatum.

Q&A's

We can imagine that you have some questions. Therefore, we organize two Q&A's on Wednesday 15th of November to update you about the latest CLA-news. We will give more details about the proposal of easyJet. The first Q&A will be in the morning, from 10.30 - 11.30 and the second in the evening, from 19.30 till 20.30.

FNV to Brussels

Last week we as FNV easyJet board and chairman had the opportunity to visit the European transport workers federation in Brussels which is a collective union body across Europe which the FNV is part of. ETF is the only representative in aviation that has a direct line of contact with the European commission and EASA. ETF is there for the entire transport sector and ensures that everyone in this sector receives the best working conditions and protect everyone's rights.

Our board got introduced to the ETF and their current agenda, we also had a great opportunity to meet other union board representatives from within easyJet and other airlines. We have gotten great insight on their current progressions regarding CLA's, negotiations and challenges that are being faced. Our second day we participated in a meeting with the European commission of air traffic and European network airlines association where all unions came together as ETF and had some progressive discussions about topics such as gender balance, diversity, equality & inclusion, staff shortages, disruptive passengers and many more pressing matters.

Lastly we as FNV easyJet board were happy to be introduced and able to meet a variety of wonderful people which we have a lot in common with and learned a thing or two from. Relations and bonds were built and we keep on helping one another and improving as we move forward.
