Notice of Paving & Detour Third Avenue (CR 619) from 93rd - 80th St., Stone Harbor

STONE HARBOR, NJ --The County of Cape May, in conjunction with the Borough of Stone Harbor, will be performing temporary paving restoration along Third Avenue (CR 619) in the Borough of Stone Harbor on May 6th and 7th between 93rd and 80th Streets. The work includes the milling and resurfacing of the travel lanes that were damaged as a result of the recent utility replacement project performed by the Borough of Stone Harbor.

This paving is a temporary resurfacing effort to restore the roadway for the summer traffic. The County will be undertaking a more comprehensive resurfacing improvement project beginning in September 2024.

During the paving operation, through traffic will be detoured around Third Avenue onto Second Avenue between 93rd and 80th Street. Local traffic will be maintained, and residents will always have access to their homes. The roadway will be reopened to through traffic overnight on Monday, however motorists are urged to proceed with care as the roadway may be uneven at the centerline and will not be striped. Upon completion of the paving on Tuesday, Third Avenue will be permanently opened to thru traffic.
