Minister of Climate and the Environment Kai Mykkänen visits Stockholm on Monday 13 May. He will meet the Swedish Minister for Climate and the Environment Romina Pourmokhtar and Daniel Liljeberg, State Secretary to the Minister for Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Busch.

The purpose of the visit is to further increase cooperation between Finland and Sweden in order to promote the clean transition and build a common understanding of the situation in terms of the climate and energy policy.

"The clean transition is an enormous opportunity to create wellbeing and improve the competitiveness of our countries. New solutions and investments are needed - the aim of the discussions is to share the lessons learned and increase cooperation to ensure that the transition will succeed," Minister Mykkänen says.

The meetings to create the shared situation picture are led by the minister and attended by leading exports from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment and Ministry of the Environment. The topics discussed include the national climate policy plans, as well as energy solutions and the development of the EU climate policy. The delegation will also visit Stockholm Exergi energy company, which is preparing an investment decision concerning the capture and permanent storage of bio-based carbon dioxide (Bio-energy with Carbon Capture and Storage BECCS).
