The Big Number Natter is back

To celebrate National Numeracy Day on 22 May 2024, we're joining the nationwide conversation about numbers and inviting you to join us at our Big Number Natter event.

Where and when is the event?

The event takes place at Brian Jackson House on Thursday 16th May between 9:30am - 12:30pm.

What is the Big Number Natter?

The Big Number Natter is a chance for you to talk about your experience with maths, get advice and support on becoming more confident with numbers and take part in some fun, informal activities to make numbers easier to understand. There will be loads of activities throughout the event to help you build your number confidence, and there's some prizes up for grabs, including £20 shopping vouchers for some lucky winners!

The team of advisors from our Multiply programme will be on hand to talk about how we can support you to include maths more in your daily life. This could include improving household finances, helping children with homework, making more sense of the facts in the media, or improving numeracy skills specific to a line of work.

You will also get the opportunity to talk with some past and present participants, who can help reassure you that numbers aren't so scary!

How else can you get involved?

Speaking about numeracy doesn't need to just be limited to The Big Number Natter! As part of our Multiply programme, we have lots of free courses to help. These can build your confidence when it comes to using maths in your day-to-day life. All adults (19 years and over) who do not have a level 2 qualification in maths (GCSE Grade C/Grade 4) are eligible to access free support from Multiply.
