DCSA names next Program Executive Officer

The Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) has selected Edward Lane as Program Executive Officer (PEO). In this role, Mr. Lane will be responsible for the direction and synchronization of multiple portfolios of information technology (IT) systems that support both federal and defense services for DCSA operations. The IT systems include the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS), National Industrial Security System (NISS) and the DITMAC System of Systems. In this capacity, Mr. Lane will be responsible for the cost, schedule and performance of these IT systems.

Mr. Lane has a deep leadership and acquisitions background in both the private sector and government. He has prior military and government experience at the Under Secretary of Defense, Intelligence and Security and the National Reconnaissance Office. His last federal position was as the Deputy Senior Acquisition Executive at the Defense Intelligence Agency where he led all acquisition and contracting to execute over $15 billion and over 2,200 annual contract actions across the spectrum of products, supplies, facilities, services, and development programs in support of the Intelligence Community and Combatant Commands.

Mr. Lane's proven record and demonstrated leadership skills make him ideally suited to fill this critical role at DCSA and he joins the agency at a very important time, as we review and recommit to the development of NBIS.

Mr. Lane was selected after an extensive search and board process. His appointment will be effective April 22, 2024.
