PA Gaming Control Board Fines Fantasy Contest Operator And Places Two On Exclusion List For Leaving Children Unattended To Gamble

HARRISBURG, PA: The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) approved a consent agreement during its public meeting today that lead to a fine for a Fantasy Sports Contest operator, while also banning two adults from all casinos in the Commonwealth for leaving children unattended in order to gamble.

The approved consent agreement was the result of negotiations between the Office of Enforcement Counsel and NHA PA, LLC which operates in Pennsylvania as Fantasy Sports Contest site No House Advantage. The $8,000 fine approved by the Board was imposed for the company's failure to notify the PGCB of a change of control in its ownership structure that occurred in late 2021. The Board does note that the new organizational structure was approved at an earlier public meeting.

The Board also took action to place two adults on the Involuntary Self-Exclusion List after leaving two children, ages 1 and 6, in a hotel room while they gambled in the adjoining casino. The mother and boyfriend, who left the children unattended for nearly an hour, were charged by the Pennsylvania State Police for their actions.

In making these decisions regarding these adults, the Board reminds the gambling public that adults are prohibited from leaving minors unattended in the parking lot or garage, a hotel, or other venue at a casino since it creates a potentially unsafe and dangerous environment for the children. Leaving minors unattended at a Pennsylvania casino subjects the offending adult to criminal prosecution in addition to permanent exclusion from all Pennsylvania casinos.

The next meeting of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2022 in the PGCB's Public Hearing Room located on the second floor of the Strawberry Square Complex in Harrisburg.
